Quantum Glow Show Notes

Have you heard the philosophy that there are only three ingredients you should give a hoot about in your skincare?
One of these “phyto-retinols” is called bakuchiol. It promises retinol-like results (that dual action of cell turnover and collagen optimization is the retinol signature benefit) without the irritation associated with retinol. It is not actually a type of retinol, but a plant-based ingredient that dupes the results retinol gives.
Usually it is included at up to 1%, but we’ve quintupled that to 5% in this formulation, to really get this phyto-retinol working with the same efficiency as true retinol.
We’ve chosen Tetrahecyldecyl Ascorbate as our Vitamin C. It is a very stable, very powerful form of Vitamin C.
- At 0.1% reduces melanin synthesis by 80%
- At 10% eliminated age spots in 16 weeks
- At 0.1% increases collagen by 50%
- Acne clearing at 10% with 80% patient satisfaction
- Increases collagen synthesis 2-3x better than ascorbic acid
- Inhibits inflammatory proteins MMP-2 and MMP-9 better than ascorbic acid
You can see it is effective in concentrations as low as 0.1%, but we’ve included it at 15% which is 150 times that amount.Lastly, this extremely powerful and concentrated (but gentle and irritation-free) formula contains some very unusual and synergistic supporting ingredients:
~Bisabolol, which both reduces inflammation (including acne specific inflammation) and is anti-bacterial as well.
~An absorption enhancer to make sure these expensive ingredients are in fact affecting and benefiting the skin.
~Rare unrefined honeydew melon oil (similar to cucumber, watermelon and Kalahari melon oils) and unrefined blackberry oils (similar to raspberry oil). These give a very faint beautiful natural scent that is completely essential oil free and is simply due to the fact that these oils are ultra pure and unrefined.
Quantum Glow is a limited edition product. It is inspired by the start of the new decade of 2020 and by the decadence, opulence, glitz and glamour of the 1920s. I hope you love it as much as I do.
What’s more powerful than retinol?
Bakuchiol offers the same benefits as retinol (hence the term phyto-retinol) but with zero irritation or risk (aka safe for pregnancy).
Usually included at 1%, and with “softer” results than retinol at that percentage, we’ve boosted it up to 5% to truly get the pronounced, undeniable results that has the most experimental and educated skincare mavens married to retinol.
Have you heard the philosophy that there are only three ingredients that really give results? ONLY THREE – the rest is pure noise (if you submit to this outlook)….
Well retinol is one – and Vitamin C is another.
So we’ve taken our 5% Bakuchiol and slathered it in 15% Tetrahecyldecyl Ascorbate (TA). This is a very strong, very stable form of vitamin C. It is also very gentle, and doesn’t irritate like ascorbic acid can.
Pairing a phyto-retinol with such an intense amount of Vitamin C gives results that transcend retinol alone. Skin absolutely glows – and fast.
TA gives visible results at 0.1% – so imagine what you’ll see at 150x that. These are all benefits of TA that have been clinically proven:
- At 0.1% reduces melanin synthesis by 80%
- At 10% eliminated age spots in 16 weeks
- At 0.1% increases collagen by 50%
- Acne clearing at 10% with 80% patient satisfaction
- Increases collagen synthesis 2-3x better than ascorbic acid
- Inhibits inflammatory proteins MMP-2 and MMP-9 better than ascorbic acid
We’ve splashed in a touch of bisabolol. This remarkable ingredient is an anti-inflammatory/anti-
Lastly, we’ve included ingredient delivery technology and ensconsed it all in the rarest blend of ultra fresh, small farm, single vintage, honeydew and blackberry oils. These give it such a dreamy light scent that is totally EO free.
Yes, the Vitamin C and Bakuchiol WORK, but for me the real stunner ingredients are these blackberry and honeydew oils. They are otherworldly in their loveliness and vitality.
(If you’re wondering, the final part of the ingredient trinity is sunscreen. Our Halo Photoprotective Powder works with Quantum Glow beautifully and offers another acne neutralizing ingredient: zinc.)
Hello, Wound Healing!
Quantum Glow Liquid Radiance Droplets (our 2020 New Year Limited Edition) helps your skin get a move on! What do I mean?
Personal anecdote: I rarely get these any more but when I get them, I swear, they are buried so deep they touch bone: acne cysts.
Whenever one begins to surface, I do a few things:
1) Feel deep panic and despair
2) Begin applying Zen Physic at least 2x daily
Zen immediately shuts them down for me, aka inflammation, redness and swelling subside almost immediately. But the skin still has a bump – like an actual physical mound that reaches deep under the skin – that needs healing. Have you ever experienced this type of acne scar?
To me it feels like campers have vacated a camp site, but have left their tent up!
The good news is, if you keep applying Zen, all signs that the zit ever existed continue to fade consistently.
But it just so happened that I began testing Quantum Glow (our newest limited edition) during this period of time – and I have to say, this period of time is frustrating for me.
I’m not sure why – maybe because Zen evicts the campers very quickly, but taking the tent down still takes some patience.
I will add, that before I developed Zen, these incredibly deep and big cysts would often persist for a whole half year (yep, 6 MONTHS!) and would *always* leave scarring, especially deep purple post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
After Zen, these “tent bumps” do take 2-4 weeks to resolve, but – truly – zero PIH. So, it’s *way* better than it used to be, but 2-4 weeks can still feel like a slog.
However, this time, adding Quantum Glow in, the “tent bump” was gone with the same rapidity as the campers (aka the inflammation). It disappeared in just a few days.
Vitamin C is so incredibly wound healing and regenerative. Especially at 15%. I’m so impressed with these move-it-along! results on deep sloth-like cystic acne, that I plan to work on a spot treatment that incorporates it.
But for now: Quantum Glow is such a dream.
Did you know that in addition to the actives (5% bakuchiol, 15% tetrahecyldecyl ascorbate Vitamin C and 0.5% bisabolol), Quantum Glow also contains beautiful, technical ingredients that help with hydration and ingredient absorption?
We’ve used an olive derived ingredient (Ethylhexyl Olivate) that mimics the hydrolipidic film covering the surface of the epidermis so well that it actually boosts the lipid matrix of the stratum corneum, immediately improving barrier integrity.
This ingredient is similar to squalene, but in clinical studies, while skin hydration was significantly increased in the presence of both squalene and Ethylhexyl Olivate at 30 minutes, only the Ethylhexyl Olivate succeeded in sustaining the hydration level at 120 minutes.
I can definitely feel a gorgeous suppleness and elasticity in my skin using this product. I am not normally a facial oil user, but this – to me – has a different feel. More plumping and less greasy.
Lastly, we include an ingredient that helps to enhance ingredient absorption, encouraging the ingredients to penetrate into the dermal layers instead of sitting on the skin’s surface uselessly.
Above, I’ve said more about the active ingredients, but just wanted to call these two out as they can get trampled under the more glamorous ingredients, but do play important roles in making Quantum Glow something truly special.
