Wake + detox: Lightly cover skin with a non-comedogenic oil. Massage using kansa wand or gua sha to stimulate circulation and boost lymph drainage. Here’s how to do gua sha and kansa wand massage. (You can purchase both kansa and gua sha tools on Amazon.)
Exfoliate: Reset Microdermabrasion Mousse
I don’t exfoliate my skin regularly, but there are two times I year I exfoliate (and deeply) without fail: at the beginning of Fall and Spring.
In the Fall, it’s crucial to remove any debris or dead skin that will block your skin from absorbing moisture (or any other beneficial actives in your skincare). You could be applying numerous hydrating products, but if they aren’t absorbing, then your skin will remain dull and rough, and most skincare will seem to leave an unpleasant coat or layer on the skin.
For a deep exfoliation, I like to use a dual-action (both enzymatic + manual) exfoliator. Reset Microdermabrasion Mousse is perfect for this, with nano-powder from bamboo for a safe mechanical exfoliation and pumpkin enzyme for a gentle enzymatic boost.
Cleanse: Beurre Celeste or Guava Honey Cleansing Balms.
These cleansing balms are amazing for cleansing and waking the skin up! They are so decadent and luxurious to use. You could also use a cleansing oil, but a balm is more yummy.
